Statutory OSH Audits

  1. Legal Requirement: This is conducted pursuant to section 11 of Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2007 which requires a “thorough safety and health audit at least once in a period of twelve (12) months by a Health and Safety Advisor”.
  2. Objective: To ascertain conformity to the Occupational Safety and Health Act 2007 and the various applicable regulations and rules emanating from the act.
  3. Scope: All activities that take place in the workplace and in some cases activities outside the workplace where the occupier has a responsibility to the worker.
  4. Criteria: The Occupational Safety and Health Act 2007 and the various applicable regulations and rules emanating from the act.
  5. The audit is carried out as per the Safety and Health Audit code developed by the Directorate of Occupational Safety and Health. Copies of the report are submitted to the client and the Director, Directorate of Occupational Safety and Health.
  6. In addition to carrying out the Safety and Health Audit we provide the following services that facilitate compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 2007.
    1. Registration of Workplaces pursuant section 44 of Occupational Safety and Health Act 2007 that requires all workplaces be registered with the Directorate of Occupational Safety and Health.
    2. OSH Policy Development: We facilitate the development of fit for purpose OSH policies pursuant to Section 7 of Occupational Safety and Health Act 2007 that requires Occupational Safety and Health policy be developed and disseminated to all the employee.

    The audit is carried out as per the Fire Safety Audit code developed by the Directorate of Occupational Safety and Health. Copies of the report are submitted to the client and the Director, Directorate of Occupational Safety and Health.

  1. Legal Requirement: This is conducted pursuant to rule 36 of the Fire Risk Reduction Rule, 2007 which require that every occupier ensures that a fire safety audit is conducted “at least once every twelve months by a Fire Safety Auditor”.
  2. Objective: To ascertain conformity to the Fire Risk Reduction Rules, 2007 (depending on the nature of work the conformity to Cellulose Solution Rule may be added).
  3. Scope: All activities that take place in the workplace and in some cases activities outside the workplace where the occupier has a responsibility to the worker.
  4. Criteria: The Fire Risk Reduction Rules, 2007. (On occasion the Cellulose Solution Rules may form an additional criteria)
  5. Additional to the Fire Audit report we support workplaces to comply with the Fire Risk Reduction Rules 2007. Which imposes amongst other the requirement to, deploy appropriate firefighting equipment, constitute a fire fighting team, develop and disseminate a fire safety policy, conduct fire drill
  1. Legal Authority: There is not legal requirement to conduct an ISO 45001 audit; this are conducted by organizations that i. are ISO 45001 certified to meet the internal audit requirement of the standard. (1st Party Audit) ii. are transitioning from ISO 18001 to ISO 45001. (Gap Analysis Audit) iii. are seeking to confirm that their suppliers/contractors conform to ISO 45001 as part of their criteria to qualify as suppliers/contractors for the organization. (2nd Party Audit)
  2. Objective: To ascertain conformity to the requirements ISO 45001 standard.
  3. Scope: This may vary depending on the organizational requirements from limited scope to a complete management system.
  1. We support contractors to comply with the Building Operations & Works of Engineering Construction Rules 1984. Which imposes amongst other requirements to  notify the Director of Occupational Safety and Health of the commencement of building and/or engineering works  appointment of safety supervisor(s)  perform specific tasks to safety supervisor in a site.
  2. Further we can domesticate the Council of European Communities directive 89/391/EEC on safety and health of workers at work and 92/57/EEC minimum safety and health requirements for construction sites.
